Vendor Feature | Southern Accents

This past year we have had the pleasure of meeting and working with a lot of amazing vendors. Today we wanted to share with you an extra special one called Southern Accents. Owners, Lauren and Wayne, offer an assortment of awesome rentals to help make your wedding day an event to remember with a vintage-timeless feel. We had the chance to find out about their story and some fun facts about them and we had to share it in Lauren’s own words:

Southern Accents in a vintage rental company that came to be while Wayne & I were planning our wedding last spring. I was drawn to vintage pieces that would add charming elements to our outdoor ceremony; a tufted sofa for our guests to lounge, oriental rugs placed throughout the yard, wildflowers pouring out of vintage bottles, and antique books acting as centerpieces. To me these pieces are timeless, and a timeless event is exactly what we wanted our wedding to be. When I began searching for a rental company in Wilmington I was unable to find the collection I had envisioned & began building a collection of our own. Not only did I build a small business while planning our wedding, I also fell in love with the wedding-world. I never wanted the process to end, and that is when the dream of Southern Accents was really born. I want to share these timeless treasures with other brides that get giddy about the legs on a parlor sofa, and the age of a vintage bottle colored by the sea. Southern Accents is all about using vintage details to customize your day.

Fun facts about Southern Accents/Wayne & I

Wayne & I met while working at a fine dining restaurant in Greensboro, NC. Delicious food & hosting for our friends & family is a part of our history. We used this foundation at our wedding by serving a Tapas course to our guests. It was far from traditional, but having that extra time with our guests, in addition to being playful with my new husband, is a memory we & our guests all cherish.

I adore our tufted parlor sofa & am so happy that it works so well for various types of events, but personally, my favorite piece is our antique Gumball machine. The day I rent that for an engagement shoot, or even a fair/carnival themed wedding I will celebrate with cartwheels.

Not only do we offer vintage rentals, but we also offer custom services. A close friend of ours, Joanna Frye, customized Wayne & I’s wedding invitations. She truly is a phenomenal artist and works with the couple to add another unique element to their big day.
