Jordan and Stephen’s Heartfelt Wedding at The Barn at Rock Creek near Wilmington, NC

Love blossomed unexpectedly for Jordan and Stephen when they met at a birthday gathering. What started as a friendship quickly evolved into something more profound. Their journey was filled with joyful moments, unforgettable adventures, and a surprise proposal that took Jordan’s breath away. Today, we delve into their story and discover the unique elements that make their love shine brighter than ever.

The Beginning of Something Beautiful: In February 2016, at a birthday celebration for Stephen and his roommates, fate intervened. Introduced by Jordan’s longtime friend, Hollie, who happened to be dating one of Stephen’s roommates, the couple had an instant connection. Initially, they weren’t seeking romance, but destiny had other plans. They exchanged numbers that night and embarked on a journey of friendship and shared experiences. Just a month later, they mutually decided to take their relationship to the next level, officially becoming a couple on April 4th, 2016.

Joyful Times and Shared Passions: Over the course of their four-year relationship, Jordan and Stephen have created countless cherished memories. They share a love for exploration, particularly through cruises, which allowed them to visit various islands together. Their travels also included visits to local and distant breweries, indulging in craft beers and savoring the vibrant atmosphere. Some of their favorite breweries in Wilmington include Waterline Brewing Company, Wilmington Brewing Company, and Brewer’s Kettle. Their trip to Asheville introduced them to the delightful Wicked Weed Brewing Company. While Jordan enjoys mountain getaways, Stephen finds solace by the beach, beautifully balancing their preferences.

The Perfect Proposal: On November 10th, 2019, during a visit to Raleigh, North Carolina, for an NC State game, Stephen took Jordan by surprise with a meticulously planned proposal. Unaware of Stephen’s intentions, Jordan casually mentioned their special spot near the Red Hat Amphitheater, where they had taken a photo each summer. As she turned around to share the moment, she discovered Stephen on one knee, ready to ask her the most important question of their lives. Overwhelmed with joy, she eagerly accepted his proposal, marveling at the ring he had designed himself. It was an enchanting moment they will forever hold dear.

Choosing Anchored in Love: Jordan’s discovery of Anchored in Love Videography was serendipitous. Inspired by the beautiful video created for their friends Casey and Jessica, Jordan was drawn to the friendly and personable nature of the team. After exchanging emails and speaking on the phone, she knew that Anchored in Love was the perfect choice to capture their wedding day, thanks to their exceptional professionalism and warmth.

The Charming Venue: The Barn at Rock Creek holds a special place in Jordan and Stephen’s hearts, primarily due to its magnificent pavilion, where they will exchange their vows. The couple appreciates the ample coverage and the comforting presence of a grand fireplace, ensuring their ceremony remains magical, come rain or shine. Additionally, the staff’s exceptional service and attention to detail have made their wedding planning experience truly enjoyable.

Jordan and Stephen’s love story is a testament to the power of unexpected connections and shared passions. From their chance meeting to the enchanting proposal, they have built a foundation of love, trust, and understanding. As they embark on their journey towards marital bliss, The Barn at Rock Creek will witness the culmination of their love story, surrounded by their loved ones and the beauty of nature. With Anchored in Love capturing their special day, Jordan and Stephen can look forward to reliving their magical wedding for years to come.

My first post-Covid wedding was a really special one. Jennifer and Sterling were the sweetest couple and their wedding located in downtown New Bern, NC was full of classic beauty. Jennifer was kind enough to share her thoughts about her wedding day:

Let’s talk about your vendors! Tell us what your thoughts are about their services.

Yes, I made a lot of the decor for the church and reception with help from my dad, other family and friends.

Now that your day is over are there any other thoughts or comments you would like to share? We would love to hear about your wedding day in your own words. Bonus: We would love to hear about your Groom’s favorite moments! (Optional)

It was a great day. It was so nice to be surrounded by the ones we love. It was just so special to celebrate with everyone even with COVID-19 going on. I think it made it that much more special being together with the ones we love.

Is there anything you are so glad you did or any advice to future brides?

I am so glad I got a videographer. I was thinking about not getting one because of the price, but I am so glad I did. The videos really capture the day, and I know I will watch the videos all the time to look back on our awesome day.
