We have been looking forward to Rita and Josh’s wedding ever since our first meeting it seems like forever ago! This amazing and adorable couple was nothing but bliss to shoot!
I was particularly excited about their incorporation of their Jewish heritage in their wedding day. One of the most anticipated moments of the Hora, the lifting of chairs, may have been more exciting to me than anyone else in the room! How fantastic!! The photos speak for themselves and the love that Rita and Josh have for each other, their families, and their friends. Thank you Rita and Josh for letting me be a part of your wonderful wedding day!
Coordinator: Lauren Powell. She is the events coordinator at the Weathervane and she helped so much with planning as well as coordinating our special day! It was wonderful working with her.
DJ: Lenny Fritts
Cake provider: Cakes by Chloe – Chloe was awesome. She came to our apartment for the cake tasting and we immediately fell in love with the chai spice cake with ginger honey cream cheese. Our dog was trying to join the cake tasting too, and she was fine with it. She allowed us to choose three different flavors for our cake and was really easy to work with. We tried a lot of cake vendors before we chose her and are happy with our choice.
Florist: Southern Season is a one stop shop. The Weathervane is connected to the gourmet grocery store where they have their floral department. The florist, Jenn, did an amazing job on our bouquets, the Chuppah flowers, and the table arrangements. I asked for lots of white hydrangea, pink roses, dusty miller, and silver brunia and she nailed my vision.
Makeup and hair: Makeup by Ashley Mooney. Her team was the best and came on-site for all of our services. These girls were the sweetest to work with and one of my bridesmaids has already booked her for next August!
DIY: My Maid of Honor did all of the chalkboard art. She did a chalkboard for the ceremony, the bar, and the gift table.
Kelly was amazing to work with. We felt like she was genuinely excited about our day. We met Kelly in Durham over a year ago, loved her, and booked her later that night! We had an awesome experience at our engagement shoot in Wilmington last March. Kelly really adapts to any situation with ease… like our 70 pound German Shepherd not quite cooperating during the shoot! As for our wedding photos, Kelly captured so many wonderful moments. Our guests were raving about her ability to make younger children cooperate during photos and her ability to get everyone to smile for photos in general. I can’t get enough of our photos, Kelly! Honestly, the only regret we have was not hiring Kelly for the whole day. We hired Kelly for 8 hours, but on your wedding day, it’s worth the extra splurge to have her there all day. We will definitely be using Kelly for our future shoots!
Advice for future brides: Do a first look. That was our favorite moment from the wedding day. The ceremony and reception fly by and you will be thankful you had those private, special moments with your almost husband/wife.
