There are two types of people in this world, people who listen to Christmas music in November and those who don’t. This year on 11/1 I was ready to blast some Jingle Bells! So now you know which type I am 🙂 Today I am sharing some highlights from an adorable session I did with my sweet friend and fellow photog Dana Laymon. She and her hubby asked me to have the honor of shooting a session for them for their annual Christmas cards. I truly believe that Christmas Cards are such a great tradition. Not only to you get some fresh photos of yourself and your loved one(s), but you get to send them out to be treasured by your friends and family. It always makes me feel so loved and special when I receive a Christmas card from a friend (hint hint everyone lol). We shot this session at River Road Park and I love the light and the Spanish moss on the trees. It is a great spot for a session! I asked Ali before our session what her hopes were for me to capture during our shoot and she said: The sweet love between our little family. I’d like to remember our innocence and the memory of all our “firsts” together. First home, first pup, first professional photos since we wed. Figuring out what life is and loving it together is what I would like to reflect.
I love shooting photos that are very personal. Especially when we get to go somewhere memorable like a home. I love looking back at old photos and remembering houses I have lived in. Remembering the furniture, layouts, smells and favorite memories. We had so much fun at this shoot, as you can see! Ali was so sweet and emailed me once she had a chance to see her photos and said:
“I am absolutely in love with the photos!! I truly feel that you read my requests and tried to produce photos I desired. They could not be more perfect. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
